SUMMARY:Sfere Vocali
DESCRIPTION:Sfere Vocali is a recently created vocal ensemble that was born from the need to form a group in which the five members can contribute the individual experiences they have acquired over the years. It not only seeks to create a unique sound\, but also aims to explore and interpret vocal music in a small format with a new perspective that is the result of the experiences of its members. \nThe show Sospirs invites us to explore the deepest human feelings through music and poetry. It presents a series of madrigals for five voices by Italian composers of the early Baroque\, with Monteverdi’s Lamento della Ninfa as the main pillar\, which represents the culmination of the madrigal and opera genres. This strong relationship between the text and emotions with the music is the most characteristic feature of madrigals\, which generate moments of silent reflection and introspection in which words are not enough to express what we feel. In most of the pieces that will be performed we will be able to find different types of sighs\, whether of sorrow\, suffering\, despair\, love\, faith or hope\, which become a universal language\, capable of communicating what remains hidden in the depths of the heart. \nSospirs refers to one of the so-called madrigalisms that the last composers of the madrigal genre created: a device with which a note falls to the next lower note\, so that the idea of ​​the sigh is emphasized through the music.

DESCRIPTION:Catalonia has an important choral tradition that draws from the immense work of Josep Anselm Clavé and the numerous orpheons that were founded throughout the country at the end of the 19th century. One of the genres that have historically been more cultivated in these choirs and orchestras is the Catalan popular song\, and numerous composers have devoted their attention to it since the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries\, as well as current composers. DESCRIPTION:The Estem d’Acords Chamber Choir was born in August 2014 from a group of students from the Pep Ventura Musical Studies Center in Figueres\, under the direction of Pere Puig\, arranger and pianist and with Florence Miscopein\, who in charge of artistic direction. \nThe repertoire is based on arrangements of between 4 and 8 voices of recognized songs from musicals\, singer-songwriters and groups\, with some forays into the world of classics as well. \nThe Choir has offered performances in various towns in the Em¬pordà\, such as Cadaqués\, Colera\, Bellcaire\, Figueres\, El Port de la Selva and Roses\, among others. He has also performed in other Catalan towns such as Girona and Barcelona. Internationally\, the Choir has performed in Perpignan and soon in Hamburg. \nThe group has evolved to become a youth association through the Generalitat\, and as a municipal entity of the city of Figueres. Currently\, it is made up of 9 storytellers: Laura Arolas\, Sònia Brias\, Irene Costa\, Alina Font\, Claudia Galli\, Laia Pey\, Júlia Xaudiera\, Albert Aguilera and Adrià Pons.

SUMMARY:Capella Polifònica de Girona
DESCRIPTION:This year the Polifònica de Girona premieres a new program. This is a repertoire that in 2023 received a Girona Crea grant from Girona City Council for its composition; a program of traditional Catalan songs related to carlinades that tell stories of carlins (Traditionalist fighters)\, smugglers\, bandits and other characters\, set in the landscapes of Girona region. \nThe choral performance is combined with readings of texts by Marian Vayreda and witnesses of the time\, contributed by the archive of the Monastery of Sant Daniel\, by the actress Clara Mir. \nThe a cappella arrangements\, created for this project by Martí Ferrer\, conductor of the Capella Polifònica de Girona\, are based on traditional Catalan polyphony techniques\, which are the same throughout Occitania and\, by extension\, the Mediterranean\, but with a modern harmonic conception.

SUMMARY:Coral Singlot
DESCRIPTION:Coral Singlot is a self-managed youth choir that was created in Girona in 2020 by a group of friends who shared the need to find a space to sing and share experiences through music\, as we had done it years ago in different corals This initiative\, in the midst of a pandemic\, took shape and the project has been growing in activity and in the number of singers until today. \nThe director is Oriol Mallart\, and we rehearse on Thursday afternoons at the Ateneu Popular Coma Cros\, in Salt. The musical styles we perform are very varied\, from classical and sacred music\, to the most modern and current\, through traditional Catalan music and from around the world\, musicals and soundtracks or pop music arrangements. \nWe have performed several concerts in Girona\, Salt and Celrà\, as well as in other places in Catalonia\, such as Malgrat de Mar or Palafolls\, as part of the Corearte festival. We recently made our first trip outside of Catalonia\, with a concert in Lisbon\, together with other choirs from the city. \nBut concerts are not the only activity of the choir. Social activities such as the camps\, where you work musically but also get along\, or dinners and collaborations with the University\, are also very important. For this reason the two pillars of Coral Singlot are the cultural and the social.

DESCRIPTION:The Salvadora Catà Choir was born in Girona in September 2017 as an integral collective of the Ateneu Popular Salvadora Catà. \nIt is a transfeminist and non-mixed choir that wants to make women visible on stage\, bringing music to the social struggle. \nIt is a choir self-managed by all the people who are part of it\, which promotes family conciliation\, care and the coexistence of different generations to share and grow with women who are at different times of life. \nSalvadora Catà was the first woman to be sentenced to death and shot in Girona by the Franco regime in 1939; with this name\, the choir shows its support for all women who suffer the oppression of the patriarchy.

SUMMARY:Quartet Mèlt
DESCRIPTION:Quartet Mèlt is a young vocal group\, although it already has an important background on stage. In 2012 it was formed with four singers from all over Catalonia united by the world of Catalan choral singing\, and in 2015 its popularity was boosted after winning the TV3 musical contest Oh happy day. \nTheir concerns\, together with their versatility\, have led them to produce and participate in very diverse shows\, from their already classic Christmas concerts\, to the collaboration with Cobla Contemporània\, through the theatrical work Imparables. They also have 2 own albums\, Maletes and Xarrampim. \nIn 2022\, they premiered the Celebrem show\, which was acclaimed by the audience that was able to enjoy it. An optimistic repertoire designed to claim the fact of celebrating the little things. The Mèlt Quartet defends that by celebrating the little things we will be able to change the way we look at solving the big conflicts that concern us as a society. \nIn 2024\, the vocal quartet will continue to entrust the different towns of Catalonia with their desire to celebrate\, but they will do so with a novelty much requested by those who have already seen the show: their third album with the songs of Celebrem!
